Postnatal support

Every Mother and birthing person should begin life with a new baby feeling nurtured and powerful. Culturally we have lost much of the traditional wisdom that guided and nourished us through birth and motherhood. We care deeply about ensuring more mothers & families have the postnatal support that they need & deserve.

Birth Collective Offerings…

  • A young child with curly hair lying on a changing pad, wearing a striped shirt and diaper, being attended to by a caregiver.

    Infant Massage

Massage is a lovely way to communicate with your baby through nurturing touch and can help with relieving tummy pain or colic symptoms, improving sleep, soothing the nervous system and supporting development. The International Association of Infant Massage course is taught over five weeks and in the relaxed classes you will get to meet other parents, receive complimentary massage oil, refreshments and a booklet to take home. You will build on your knowledge week by week, to learn a full body massage.

Courses run regularly in Lewes and Ringmer. For more information visit our directory which has details of the local IAIM instructors.

Doulas can help you plan for your postnatal time and visit you at home after the birth giving you regular support, rest, nourishment and care during this transformational time. Many postnatal doulas will include cooking, infant feeding support or massage as part of their offerings.
