Mothers Blessings
Sami facilitates Mother’s Blessings which are bespoke to you and your community. They are planned with the mother or the loved one who is hosting.
The circle ceremony is facilitated to honour and celebrate the mother; blessings are given, hopes and fears can be voiced, guests can each bring an offering such as a reading or poem. The mother is usually adorned - perhaps with flowers, body art or a necklace made from small tokens. When the circle ceremony is closed and guests may share food, sing, dance or walk in nature together.
Sami is deeply committed to creating ceremony and ritual which has meaning for those involved, is connected to nature and harnesses the power of community. She has spent time studying and learning about birth and postnatal rituals from around the world where traditional knowledge has been retained and respected and will also learn from the pregnant woman and her loved ones, weaving in family traditions and wisdom that are known or can be discovered! Sami is particularly interested in connecting to the history and Celtic traditions of Britain which were deeply rooted in nature and place and which offer many beautiful ways to celebrate birth and rites of passage.
Mother's Blessings are a lovely opportunity to recognise and strengthen a mother's circle of support before the birth - together thinking about ways she might be helped to rest and recover postnatally. Creative workshops can be added to the day, where guests work together after the circle to make a hamper of nourishing gifts for pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
